Contest Galician Tesoira new fashion designers 2007
Ten novice designers showed their proposed spring-summer edition of the competition in design Caixanova Tesoira in Theater. The ten finalists were selected by the jury from the 59 proposals submitted to this contest, whose purpose is "to provide an opportunity for young artists to present their work and to showcase to working life."
Galicia has fashioned quarry and it loves the unconventional, as has been seen on the catwalk of new creators Tesoira 2006 held in Vigo. On stage creations have been shown ten Galician, a man and nine women, all finalists in a fashion competition sponsored by the regional government and that there had been a total of 47 designers.
The proposed needle novices have been nearly as original as the titles of the parades each. For example the Vigo Carolina González Campaigning has demonstrated that theirs is not the needle, but the sculpture. As a fine arts graduate show models created from fabric ten tents. Lack of sponsorship and the provocative proposal served to get the third place in the standings.
Ahead of it has been the Ourense Lorena Rodriguez, winner of the first prize for his collection Conceptual. To get away from the path of classical dress has sought inspiration in the architectural universe Mies Van der Rohe and has not gone bad in the eyes of the jury which, incidentally, had a former winner in the contest and mature as designer Christopher Vidal.
The second prize went to Sarai Fernandez, a young resident of Pontevedra and something in common with the other two winners. The weight of the plastic and the art world in a procession marked by the contrast and sophistication own a couture catwalk.
In addition to the cash prizes, 3,000, 1,500 and 1,000 euros, respectively for the first, second and third place, the Department of Industry has called for help from the creators training with scholarships of $ 3,000 to prepare senior centers .
The other seven collections Galician selected to parade on the catwalk Vigo, Jose Matteos, Carmen Nunez, Helena Fernández-Novoa, Astrid Estevez, Ana Maria Pumar, Maria Teresa and Maria Jesus Gonzalez Sotelino received aid of 1,000 euros for making garments that have exhibited with success on stage.
The creative universe of starting is painted in black and other dark colors, overlaps, plays with shapes and volumes and is mostly very aesthetic.
Evocations architecture, the dream world, the conceptualism and even geometry, design Galician has again demonstrated that moves and that the new generations have a perfect opportunity to maintain its current leadership.Only need to receive appropriate support. And in this task is the administration.
