Vigo: Center of traditional craftsmanship
The Traditional Crafts Centre, CAT, is a service center attached to the Heritage Council of Vigo, who began his career under the European URBAN program in 1999.
The CAT program activity ahead of the coordination, planning and revitalization of the set of actions proposed in the field of protection and promotion of the Galician Traditional Crafts.
The field of action is aimed, in the first instance, research, promotion and dissemination of seven traditional trades: blacksmiths, weavers, the saddlers, masons, carpenters, potters and basket makers.
OBJECTIVES CAT:
Protecting the cultural heritage of traditional crafts Galicia, through its research, advocacy and outreach.
Contribute to the economic rehabilitation, cultural and commercial center of Vigo History, through the promotion and development of traditional crafts sector in the area.
